Wedding Engagement Shoots are an awesome way to get used to being photographed prior to your wedding. Its a brilliant practice run. Come wedding day you are feeling comfortable with the camera, you know what you like and I know the sort of photography want. We also get to hang out with no time pressure, which is great! I used to include these shoots as an optional extra, but found them to be so useful for everyone (myself included) that I now include them with all wedding photography packages. I also get to experiment a little and often advise people to bring along a few props that are relevant to themselves to the shoot. I have shot all manner of musical instruments, sporting gear, motorbikes, etc during engagement shoots but was especially excited when Catherine and Julian turned up to last weeks shoot in a Lotus – a pretty interesting prop! I only had a couple of very basic lights with me (A black Lotus is a big object to light!) but we just about got away with it! I’ve also included a couple of other non-car-related photos from the shoot to the gallery below for non lotus lovers;-)
So the gauntlet has been thrown down in terms of elaborate prop’s, I look forward to seeing what this season will bring!
The pictures are beautiful Catherine! You both make such a lovely couple. We are very happy for you and Julian and glad the wedding plans are moving along well.
