As a Wellington based wedding photographer I get to shoot at some pretty amazing venues, and I have shot at most of them. So when Maddie and Dave asked me to photograph their wedding at Pencarrow Lodge, a beautiful wedding venue located down a windy gravel road past Eastbourne in Wellington that I had never been to, I was pretty excited! The venue (and the couple;-) totally lived up to expectation – it was the perfect pre-Christmas wedding 😉
Two buses full of guests snaked their way along the gravel coast road to get to the lodge – a very spectacular way to start the day which really added to the feel of exclusivity and privacy. The ceremony took place in a relatively sheltered spot by a vineyard, which was lucky as despite being sunny it was blowing a gale! After a very touching ceremony we shot the Bridal shoot all within a stones throw of the lodge due to the wind and found some absolutely beautiful and surprisingly sheltered spots. Maddie and Dave were so much fun to hang out with and very natural to photograph, I could have kept going for the rest of the day but dinner beckoned. The reception area looked amazing, the flowers and decorations were spectacular. Following food and speeches there was some excellent very inclusive dancing (I will let the photos do the talking here) and the party began proper. What an awesome day – thanks for having me along guys 😉
